A solution For Earlier Post.

As we posted the earlier post “Disguise your folders secretly“. There was a question within us!! We were too uncertain that whether that trick would work on Win Vista or Win 7. Then we got a copy of Win 7 which we hadn’t tried before. And followed the procedure mentioned in earlier post. But unfortunately it did not work. Again we got VISTA and tested in it too but it did not work. So we came up with a conclusion that the trick won’t work on Microsoft’s releases after Xp.

But we did not give up so we were in search of a solution when suddenly we thought of a plan. Making a bath file might work was what we came up to. So we tried making a batch and to our expectation it worked fine.

Here is what we did—

1) We created a folder named Wierd on My Document.

2) Then We opened notepad and typed — (ren wierd wierd.{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}). Without small brackets of course and saved it as a batch file in My Document Folder with name “hide.bat”

3) Then again in notepad we wrote the code (ren wierd.{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D} wierd). Without small brackets of course and saved it as a batch file in My Document Folder with name “unhide.bat”

When we executed hide.batch the folder changed to My Computer button. And functioned as My Computer. And when we executed unhide.bat then our folder reappeared.

Sorry for inconvinience though…

Copied website design

Its ridiculous to find out that the official site of Nepal Telecom

is copied !! The original template is this

This was discovered by Mr.Hemanta Maharjan who is  a close friend of ours. This is a very disgusting thing and we think that nepali web designers should learn a lesson from this. We think that the Telecom authority should hand over the website to us for a rebuild (kidding). Say no to plagarism. This is “wierd”.

Disguise your folders secretly

Ever thought of hiding folders in a competely different way ?  Well, we have come up with a trick. It’s obviously not new, and we are not the only one who have discovered it, but also we would like to place this cool hack in our wierd blog.

1. First of all make a folder ( Just for testing purpose ) in desktop or anywhere you like.

2. Give it a name and just after that folder’s name, place a dot  ( . ) and paste this text “{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}” without quotes including the braces.

For example if  you want to disguise a folder  named “wierd” then just rename it as “wierd.{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}”

The folder just changes into  “My Computer ” and behaves like “My Computer” itself. All the content of the folder are now hidden and do not appear even while searching from the windows search facility.

3.To view the original folder again just rename it back to its original name or anything you wish, but make sure you erase the text inside the parenthesis.

4.To hide it again, repeat the initial process.

The above example shows you to disguise your folders to “My Computer”. You can disguise it as other various things. Below are the list of the extensions.

Recycle Bin: {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

My Computer: {20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

My Documents: {450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103}

Have fun disguising your folders..

A weird mistake, we made

We simply mis-spelled the word and registered the name wrong. Its “weird” not “wierd” isnt it ???? It’s a weird mistake and we learnt a lesson. But we think that now onwards, at least in our blog we will repeat the mistake again !!! Its going to be “wierd” always. This is the most wierd thing we have ever done. This was just a start and it’s already wierd. We think that the “non-techhies” are going to have fun reading our wierd things. And still the tech-related posts are coming soon. Hope you guys will support us.
